Cy Twombly, one of the greatest painters of 20th century, died at the age of 83 in 2011 in Rome, where he lived when not in the United States, merging as he did the origins of Mediterranean culture with Abstract Expressionism. Now the Centre Pompidou in Paris has put together a career retrospective of his art: 140 paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs, on view through April 24, 2017. PROVOKR here has picked some of our favorites from the exhibit, a must-see of the winter season.
