Since his “death” in the Prison Break “finale,” our favorite escape artist has been relatively quiet. But thanks to the upcoming revival of the hit show and our once dead hero, Wentworth Miller will soon be tunneling his way back into our hearts.

Born in England to a special education teacher and a layer and former Rhodes scholar, Wentworth Miller grew up in Brooklyn before attending Princeton and graduating with a degree in English Literature. Just when it looked like he was ready to follow in his parents academic footsteps, Miller caught the acting bug and moved to Los Angeles.

After racking up some respectable TV credits throughout the late 90s and early aughts, Miller booked the lead role in Prison Break as Michael Scofield, a genius architect intent on breaking his brother out of prison. It proved to be a breakout in more ways than one–the show was an instant hit and enjoyed a four season run plus a movie to wrap everything up. However, in a shocking twist, Scofield, Miller’s character, dies at the end of the film. Fans truly thought it was the end.

While the ensuing years were relatively quiet on the show business side of things, Wentworth Miller made headlines when he came out as gay in 2013. Having denied the rumors for years, Miller decided he had to step forward when he was invited to the St. Petersburg Film Festival. Due to Russia’s abhorrent treatment of gay people, Miller was compelled to write a letter declining his invitation “as a gay man.” He went even further when he openly discussed his closeted past and suicide attempts as a teenager at a human rights conference.

Since he came out, things began to pick up for Miller. He stole enough scenes in guest spots on The Flash with his former Prison Break brother, Dominic Purcell, that the two got regular roles on Legends of Tomorrow. Then the craziest news of all broke in 2016: Michael Scofield had managed to escape death itself. A fifth season will be coming to FOX in April and all the major players, including Scofield, will be returning. And if the new trailer is any indication, Miller is once again ready to make some noise.
