A self-described “art renegade,” Kelly Moore sells his wares in his extravagantly appointed studio, the Dark Bird Palace, at the Tesuque Reservation Flea Market, which is located five miles north of Santa Fe, New Mexico (March through October, Thursday—Sunday, at the end of the alley about 100 yards back at 620 Canyon Road). Moore is self-taught and hails from the Ozarks of Arkansas, and, according to his Facebook page, he is “one of the most original creators of folk art in the United States.” We would certainly agree. Here’s a selection of PROVOKR picks.
