The theme for this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibition is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology.” The show—which runs through August 14—features more than 150 pieces of fashion dating from the turn of the 20th century to the present. The selection of garments on display spans the gamut from handmade couture (highlighting old-school techniques like embroidery and lacework) to machine-made designs that show off the latest in fashion technology such as laser cutting, thermo shaping and 3D printing.
