New Face: Aqua Parios
This mesmerizing young model is from Phoenix and rising

A Phoenix high-school cheerleader when she was discovered, model Aqua Parios is now 19, based in New York, with her first runway season behind her, having walked for Marc Jacobs, Anthony Vaccarello, Narciso Rodriguez and Prabal Gurung. She’s of African-American and Japanese heritage, and her grandfather, Phil Phillips, wrote the ’50s rock ballad “Sea of Love.”
“I’m really into fashion, and particularly shoes,” she recently told Women’s Wear Daily. “I’m working on some shoe designs, so I’ll see what happens with that. I’d like to use modeling as a platform to create fashion and also to set an example for young girls—to teach girls that you don’t need to have a full face of makeup and that you’re OK the size that you are. Embrace who you are, your talents and the things that you love to do.”
