BEYONCÉ FLIES
The New Ivy Park X Adidas Collection Arrives

We were first introduced to Beyoncé’s Ivy Park clothing line in 2016, and since then, the activewear brand has continued to push the boundaries of athletic fashion.
Beyoncé first announced a collaboration between Ivy Park and Adidas in April of 2019, known as “Drip 1.” It marked a sort of re-launch for the Ivy Park brand after severing ties with British retailer Topshop. The collaboration consisted of shoes, performance gear, and lifestyle apparel, and was aided by a particularly clever and effective marketing campaign that you may remember. A week before the official launch, Beyoncé sent various orange boxes to different celebrities and brand-promoting fans that ranged from full-scale wardrobe-sized boxes containing most of the collection to smaller, shoe-sized boxes. Reese Witherspoon memorably posted her swag on social media, along with the tell-tale orange box. The main launch of the collection happened on January 17, 2020, and the entire thing sold out on Adidas’ website in six minutes. The line was also available in stores nationwide like Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, but also quickly sold out.

Needless to say, anticipation for Ivy Park x Adidas: Drip 2 has been quite high, especially after Beyoncé’s cryptic Instagram post last month with an image that simply read “This Is My Park” with the caption “DRIP 2 October 30.”

The collection consists of women’s and gender-neutral apparel (from bodysuits to joggers), shoes, and accessories (the neon belt bags are a must-have). Also, this time around, there will be more inclusive sizing, ranging from 3XS to 4XL. Just like with Drip 1, you can snag pieces from Drip 2 at Adidas’ website as well as Adidas stores, but you can now also get it on ASOS. You’ll obviously want to act quickly, as this collection is certain to sell out quickly.

It’s a far cry from Ivy Park’s 2016 inception, which rode the wave of the athleisurewear trend with its black & white bodysuits. That trend has now become a bona fide lifestyle, and with the current working-from-home (as well as working out from home) shift, Drip 2’s colorful, bold-hued pieces certainly feel timely and fit right in with where society is at and what we’re doing.

Leave it to Queen Bey to make a dark year just a little brighter.
