London’s unique and contrasting energy continues to be at the core of Burberry’s identity, now overseen by creative director Ricardo Tisci. For the label’s ever-growing and ever-evolving client base, Burberry released beautiful, cutting-edge videos for its Fall/Winter 2019 product launches and holiday campaign!

FALL/WINTER 2019: TEMPEST

For Fall/Winter 2019, Tisci reunited with acclaimed photographers Nick Knight and Danko Steiner to shoot the campaign, Tempest, through two distinct lenses. This enabled the collection to be highlighted in two ways, with Knight directing one and Steiner the other. Knight showcased the line in a raw and unpolished way. Those images illustrated Burberry’s youthful energy. Knight said he wanted to challenge the idea of “looking perfect” to “show a more real and unmanipulated version.” Social media also played a big role, with drones, iPhones and cameras capturing images of confidence that models could have taken themselves. Danko Steiner’s vision fell into classic, old-school Burberry territory, with signature silhouettes shown against the ocean (a nod to the maritime theme of the collection). Steiner was inspired by the water’s powerful, natural force that can unite people. The cast included big names like Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid and Freja Beja Erichsen.

 

THE TB BAG CAMPAIGN

To showcase Ricardo Tisci’s signature bag for Burberry, photographer Jonas Lindstroem put the focus on the handbag, rather than models or surrounding scenery. The consumers hear heavy, dramatic orchestral music and see two models in a stark, cavernous room. The crisp marble highlights the bag’s clean lines and the music underscores a classic silhouette that is undeniably Burberry.

 

WHAT IS LOVE

For Tisci’s first Burberry holiday campaign, he celebrates love, togetherness and hope. Shot by longtime collaborators Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, it stars 90s supermodel (and former first lady of France) Carla Bruni and the legendary Sasha Pivovarova. A diverse array of models also strut their stuff while “What is Love” by Deee-lite pulses in the background. The holidays are Tisci’s favorite time of year and he loved bringing together his supporters to celebrate his inaugural holiday collection.
