Fashion Forward: McQueen
Instagram’s Birds & the Bees Designer

For fall 2018 Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen has taken nature to the extreme by creating fringe encompassing cocoons that transform into beautiful butterfly and bug prints. This kaleidoscope of colors featured McQueen’s signature tailoring with hand-embroidered beetle detail that would make an entomologist jump. While creating sexy cut-outs that show off all the right parts, McQueen’s fall 2018 is all about femininity with hard edges. The signature knucklebox clutch with ring handle is now jeweled encrusted with butterflies and spiders. Leather is hand-painted with floral detail and insect-like, hard exterior. And integrated wing design blends with high ruffled shoulders and fringe heels.
It’s a new season and Alexander McQueen is morphing the idea of femininity.
