Held in the church where British monarchs are crowned, the Gucci 2017 Cruise show inside Westminster Abbey celebrated the long history of British fashion, from the Victorian era to punk. There were silk dresses and bags sporting flowers prominent in English gardens, plaid skirts featuring King Charles Spaniels and lots of British schoolboy flair. “I love the English aesthetic; I feel it is close to my own language,” said Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele. “English culture is in a way very close to my beautiful chaos.”
