Moschino Capsule Collection with the Sims

Ever wanted to look EXACTLY like your video game avatar? Thanks to Moschino’s new collaboration with the Sims game franchise, now you can.

In April, Moschino debuted its Sims-inspired capsule collection at a Coachella desert party, complete with a roller rink, a roster of DJs, celebrity appearances, and a catwalk featuring the pixelated pieces in all their gaming glory. But while your Sims avatar can don all of these pieces free of charge, you’ll have to shell out $595 for the hoodie or $85 for the phone case. What makes this particular collaboration great is that Moschino went beyond simply featuring elements from the Sims into their looks. Rather, they dedicated an entire collection to the game itself.

The partnership definitely makes sense, considering Moschino has always been on the more playful side of luxury fashion. Sims General Manager Lyndsay Pearson echoed this sentiment, telling Fortune Magazine that “Moschino is an iconic brand, and fashion is an essential form of expression within games; this felt to us like a great fit.”

Fashion houses have been wise to strike up these gaming collaborations, as the increase in younger shoppers continues to be a factor in overall sales. In 2012, Prada featured Final Fantasy characters in a 12-page spread, and Louis Vuitton welcomed Final Fantasy’s Lighting as the face of its campaign five years later. They even had the character do their press interviews (OK…THAT might be a little much).

One of my personal favorites is the bathing suit featuring the “Plumbob,” the famous green diamond-shaped symbol that hangs over the Sim character being controlled (there’s also matching earrings for $220).
