Some of the most impactful fashion ads throughout the years have been ones that have dared to bare.  Ads that have upped the ante when it comes to sex tend to be the ones we remember.  Let’s take a look at some of the sexiest ads to grace our magazines and screens.

BROOKE SHIELDS FOR CALVIN KLEIN

We simply couldn’t do a list of sexiest fashion ads without including Brooke Shields’ famous Calvin Klein ads of the early 80s.  At just 15 years old, Shields helped take the “sex sells” concept to new heights when she uttered the famous words, “Do you know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.”  Racy and scandalous at the time, truly iconic now.

KATE MOSS & MARK WAHLBERG FOR CALVIN KLEIN

Another win for Calvin Klein happened in 1992, when up-and-coming superstars Kate Moss and Mark “Marky Mark” Wahlberg appeared in the brand’s now-iconic underwear ad campaign.  These ads single-handedly redefined what Calvin Klein was all about.  Gone were the big boobs and in-your-face glamour.  The new ideal became natural beauty – little to no makeup and raw personality.

CLAUDIA SCHIFFER FOR VERSACE

Shot by famed photographer Richard Avedon in 1994, Claudia Schiffer helped take Versace’s ad campaigns to new levels of sexiness.  Dressed in Chanel-esque pink tweed, Schiffer flipped the script by being the one in control, while the naked man next to her appears to be at her mercy.  Interesting also is the fact that Schiffer strikes an aggressive, masculine pose while the male model appears quite languid and feminine.

TOM FORD

It goes without saying that Tom Ford and sex go hand in hand.  Ford has consistently used sex to get his point(s) across, and no one seems to do it as effectively as he can.  He singlehandedly saved the House of Gucci with his overtly sexy designs and ads, and when he started his own namesake brand, that same sexiness followed.  He’s never seen anything wrong with objectifying men (instead of the usual sexualization of women), and even though his campaigns always push boundaries, he still manages to infuse his signature touch of classy cool.

AGENT PROVOCATEUR

Obviously, lingerie ads are known for being some of the raciest ads out there, but perhaps none are as controversial as Agent Provocateur’s.  From the mini horror films the brand released in the early 2010s to the S&M-inspired collections, Agent Provocateur always seems to find a way to push the envelope just a little bit further.  Perhaps this is why it’s one of the most recognizable lingerie brands in the world.

DAVID BECKHAM

Those underwear ads.  Drool.  David Beckham knows he looks good, and we thank him for sharing nearly all of himself with us.  From his H&M underwear campaigns to the more refined sexiness of his Armani underwear campaigns, Beckham can always find a way to make us swoon.
