TOP 10 CELEB STYLISTS
Dressing Margot, Zayn, Gigi + Bella, Cara, Jay Z +

More often than not, there’s a stylist behind a celebrity’s fabulous red carpet look and/or fierce street style. Yes, there are a lot of celebs with an innate sense of great style (looking at you, Blake Lively) who don’t need help. However, style isn’t everyone’s thing, and often, celebrities don’t have the time to pull a wardrobe together. That’s where celebrity stylists come in and we’ve picked ten that we think are at the top of their game.
ROB ZANGARDI
Dressing red carpet queen Jennifer Lopez is no easy feat, and Rob Zangardi has nailed it ever since they began working together in 2010. Zangardi first appeared on the celeb stylist radar when he teamed up with fellow stylist Mariel Haenn for Rihanna’s “Umbrella” video in 2007. Since then, he and J-Lo have repeatedly upped the ante when it comes to dressing for red carpets and performances. Remember J-Lo’s show-stopping studded leather bodysuit she wore for her Superbowl halftime performance? Oh, and not to mention the costumes for the entire halftime show production? Enough said.

JUNE AMBROSE
Remember Missy Elliott’s iconic blown-up black patent leather & vinyl outfit in her “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” video? We have June Ambrose to thank for that. Her career has continued to blossom and now she is most known for taking rapper Jay-Z’s style from street to sleek. In addition to creating some of rap superstars’ most well-known looks, her resume expands into dressing Hollywood. Other clients include Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana and Gabrielle Union.

JASON REMBERT
Zayn Malik’s robotic arm at the 2016 Met Gala, Odell Beckham Jr.’s recent sleek style switch and Rita Ora’s looks the last seven years are all the work of stylist Jason Rembert. He got his start in the fashion closet at W Magazine and eventually teamed up with Alicia Keys’ stylist Wouri Vice to work on looks for Keys’ album. He now lists Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj and Issa Rae as clients and recently debuted his fashion collection, Aliétte.

MONICA ROSE
Celeb stylist Monica Rose got her big break after meeting Kim Kardashian on a shoot in 2007. Since then, she’s been responsible for almost a decade of Kardashian family fashion. She even managed to create a trademark aesthetic in celebrity street style culture that has saturated the web and social media in recent years: monochromatic, nude tones, body-conscious, crop top, big duster coat – you know the look. Although she no longer styles the Kardashians, she still has an impressive roster of clients, including Chanel Iman, Chrissy Teigen and Cara Delevigne.

KATE YOUNG
Considering Kate Young survived working as an assistant for Anna Wintour, it’s no wonder she’s now at the top of her game. As Wintour’s assistant, Young worked on countless fashion shoots and met tons of celebs and publicists. She eventually became the creative mind behind red carpet powerhouses such as Sienna Miller, Margot Robbie and Dakota Johnson. Young’s specialty is balancing elegance, ease and never forgetting to have fun.

LAW ROACH
Arguably one of the top celebrity stylists in the world right now, Law Roach is simply unstoppable. He dresses none other than Zendaya – one of the best-dressed actresses on any red carpet. He also served as a judge on America’s Next Top Model from 2016-2018 and currently judges the HBO Max show Legendary, alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Leiomy Maldonado and Jameela Jamil. Roach is the one behind Celine Dion’s mega-transformation and he also dresses Ariana Grande and Priyanka Chopra. He recently became the first Black stylist featured on the cover of the annual “Stylists and Stars” issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

MIMI CUTTRELL
At just 28 years old, Mimi Cuttrell is already a big-name stylist. If you’ve seen any of the jaw-dropping looks worn by Gigi and Bella Hadid, you’ve seen Cuttrell’s work. Other names make it clear that Cuttrell’s the go-to for the “It Girl” set: Lily-Rose Depp and blogger Camila Coelho are two examples. A stickler for the underrated categories of tailoring and details, Cuttrell makes sure that every look she creates is always red-carpet ready.

KARLA WELCH
For the 2019 Oscars, Canadian super stylist Karla Welch styled 20 looks alone. For Tracee Ellis Ross’ 2018 American Music Awards hosting gig, Welch (who dressed Ross in twelve looks) only used Black designers, including Pyer Moss, Sergio Hudson, Nicolas Jebran and Dapper Dan for Gucci. On top of all of that, her clothing collection, x Karla, has collaborated with well-known brands like Hanes, Dockers and Levi’s – the last of which sold out in less than 24 hours and raised over $1 million for gun safety.

MICAELA ERLANGER
You’ve probably heard her name before. Micaela Erlanger is responsible for Lupita Nyongo’s knockout ensembles for her 2018 Black Panther press tour. She’s also the creative mind behind Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu’s breathtaking looks for the film’s premiere and subsequent awards season. From the Ralph & Russo movie premiere gown that went viral, to an amazing custom-made pleated tulle (yes, pleated tulle, aka next to impossible) Versace dress that Wu wore to that year’s Oscars. Erlanger has elevated Wu’s style through her styling expertise.

PETRA FLANNERY
Petra Flannery topped The Hollywood Reporter’s list of top stylists back in 2015 and she has shown no sign of slowing down. She had the pleasure of juggling both Emma Stone and Amy Adams for their 2018 awards show seasons (Stone for The Favourite and Adams for Vice) and ended up turning out over 100 looks for the pair in just two months. Fun fact: for the Oscars that year, Flannery received a gift from the fashion gods, with Stone and Adams at the same hotel – literally across the hall from each other. We’d say that probably saved her more than a few strands of pulled-out hair.
