A Kind of Murder
Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson in a Noir Thriller
1960s New York City is ripe for cinematic drama, as Mad Men has proven. In A Different Kind of Murder we meet the wealthy Stackhouse family living in the sophisticated suburbs of Manhattan—similar to where the Drapers lived—but everything is not perfect inside their seemingly perfect abode.
Walter (Patrick Wilson) is a successful architect with a gorgeous but very unstabled wife, Clara (Jessica Biel). When a woman is found murdered in their town, Walter begins fantasizing about Clara’s demise, while lusting after another woman (Haley Bennett). Things go very noir when Clara turns up dead and all fingers point to Walter. Under the watchful eye of the local fuzz, played by a Mad Man himself, Vincent Kartheiser, Walter’s stoic demeanor begins to crumble.
Based on British thrill writer, Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley), you know there’s going to be a giant twist at the end. Good luck, Walter!
