When the casting director for the movie After went looking for a young actor to play Hardin Scott, a character based on One Direction hottie, Harry Styles, she probably didn’t have to search too hard to find the look-alike—and super attractive—performer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin. The nephew of those Fiennes actor brothers, Joseph (The Handmaids Tale) and Ralph (Spectre and The White Crow), Hero has inherited the family’s good looks with probing green eyes staring out from under perfect, enviable eyebrows. You can well-imagine that Hero, er, Hardin is hiding something too good to keep a secret.
Meet Tessa Young (Josephine Langford, sister of 13 Reasons Why star, Katherine Langford), a college freshman with the whole world at her feet. She’s smart, dutiful, and plans to keep her nose to the grindstone…until she meets Hardin, a mystery man who usurps her (and her mother’s) scholastic dreams to help Tessa find her true calling: be Hardin’s sexy girlfriend!
Actress Selma Blair, the toast of this year’s Oscars and star of 1999’s Cruel Intensions, plays Tessa’s concerned mom trying to reign in her daughter’s urges. And perennial papa figure, Peter Gallagher (The O.C., Frankie and Grace) is Hardin’s father, alongside The L Word co-star Jennifer Beals as his mother.
Based on the hugely successful fan fictions books by Anna Todd—billions served!—we know this film will be a big hit at the box office.
