OK, Alicia Vikander. We see you out here making moves. It feels like forever since we’ve seen the Oscar winner on our screens. Her win for The Danish Girl was a whopping five years ago. Can you believe it?!

Sure, she led the Tomb Raider remake in 2018, but she hasn’t made a splash in a while. Well, PROVOKRs, all of that is about to change.

The dynamic actress has four films coming out this year and next to fill the hole she created in your heart and viewing schedules. Without further ado, here is what she has coming up:

THE GREEN KNIGHT

This one technically already came out, but it’s the first of many films for Vikander this year. She stars as the Essel and The Lady in the Dev Patel-led Camelot story. So yes, she’s playing two characters. Unfortunately, we don’t get that much of a glimpse of her in the trailer, but it’s exhilarating seeing her face. The film comes from A24, so it should be good.

BLUE BAYOU

This official selection of the Cannes Film Festival is bound to tear you apart emotionally. It is about a biracial family. Vikander plays the wife of Justin Chon’s character, a Korean-American attacked by police, arrested, then detained by ICE. All of this, despite living in America since he was three. Set in the Louisiana Bayou, Vikander is a powerhouse. Her raw emotion is incredible, and you’ll probably hear her name mentioned during the Oscar race. It hits theaters on September 17.

BECKETT

Buckle up for this one, PROVOKRs. Vikander joins John David Washington in an epic conspiracy-fueled film. She plays his girlfriend, so, yeah, they might win the hottest film couple of the year. (JDW and Zendaya won that last year.) This Netflix film looks intriguing.

TOMB RAIDER 2

Now we’ve come to her franchise role as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. The badass adventurer is back, and Vikander does it with ease. The adaptation of the video game series (and a remake of the Angelina Jolie projects) was set to start filming last year. Unfortunately, the pandemic delayed that, and now they’re hoping to begin this year. Vikander has expressed a desire to revisit the character, so let’s hope that wish comes true for her.

“Pre-COVID, I would’ve said yes. And now I think it’s a yes still. It’s not greenlit, but the script is in the making. And I think everyone is excited, and I would love to revisit Lara again,” she told Collider.
