Editor’s note: This article was published on July 27, 2020, before the allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct on social media came to light in January 2021.

Armie Hammer’s
been in the news a lot lately. First, he and Elizabeth Chambers, his wife of ten years, announced on Instagram they were divorcing. Then, sexual messages he allegedly sent to a fan on Instagram surfaced. In one of the messages, in response to a fan welcoming him to Moscow, he wrote, “Thank you Kitten! It is great to be back. My wife is with me or else I’d have you come meet me, plug in and hungry for daddy.” What any of that last sentence means is anyone’s best guess. Of course, whether he sent these tawdry DMs or they were photoshopped is still unclear. Regardless, it has led to quite a lot of speculation on Twitter. So we figured if he’s at the forefront of many peoples’ thoughts right now, why don’t we take a look at his upcoming projects?

Death on the Nile

This Kenneth Branagh adaptation of Agatha Christie’s mystery novel follows detective Hercule Poirot (Branagh). While on vacation in Egypt, Poirot is hired to discover who murdered heiress Linnet Ridgeway Doyle (Gal Gadot) aboard a cruise ship on the Nile River. Hammer will portray Linnet’s new husband, Simon Doyle. Death on the Nile is set to come out on October 9, 2020.

Rebecca

This adaption of the Daphne Du Maurier novel, follows a young newlywed, Mrs. de Winter (Lily James), who moves into her husband, Maxim de Winter’s (Hammer) imposing family estate. There she finds herself in constant battle with the shadow of Maxim’s first wife, the mysterious Rebecca. Although no official release date has been set, Rebecca is expected to come out sometime later this year.

Next Goal Wins

This new Taika Waititi movie is an adaptation of the 2014 documentary of the same name. It follows the American Samoa soccer team. In 2001, they lost to Australia 31-0, the worst loss in World Cup history. After such a defeat, the organization vows to never lose like that again. Years later, with the 2014 World Cup approaching, they recruit maverick coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender). No release date has been scheduled for Next Goal Wins.

Dreamland

This movie from Nicholas Jarecki (Arbitrage) follows three colliding stories about the opioid crisis: In one story, a drug trafficker arranges a fentanyl smuggling operation between US and Canada, a recovering OxyContin addict tracks down her son’s involvement with narcotics in another, and finally, a professor discovers dark secrets about his research employer, a big drug company with deep government ties.

Gaslit

This TV series will follow the 1970s Watergate scandal. What sets this apart from other content about the same story is that it will center on the people involved whose voices were lost in the fray. In addition to Hammer, the show created by Sam Esmail, will star Julia Roberts, Joel Edgerton, and Sean Penn.

Find Me

Get your peaches ready, because that rumored Call Me By Your Name sequel is coming. Although little information has been released, it is likely that it will follow the events of André Aciman’s novel. The novel is split into four parts and starts ten years after the events of Call Me By Your Name. We are excited to see Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Hammer) reunite.
