Danny Says
A behind-the-scenes rock documentary

Danny Says is a documentary on the life and times of Danny Fields. Since 1966, Fields has played a pivotal role in the music and culture of the late 20th century, working for the Doors, Lou Reed, Nico and Judy Collins and managing such groundbreaking artists as the Stooges, the MC5 and the Ramones. The movie follows Fields from being a Harvard Law dropout at the Warhol Silver Factory to his years as Director of Publicity at Elektra Records to his becoming a “punk pioneer” and beyond. Danny Says is a story of marginal turning mainstream and avant-garde turning prophetic, with interviews from everyone from Alice Cooper to Jann Wenner, Iggy Pop to Rufus Wainwright. (“Danny Says” is the title of a song written by Joey Ramone in the End of the Century album.) The movie has been in theaters and available on demand since September 30.
