Everyone loves a good mystery. That’s why people are so interested in the next film by David O Russell, director of Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. The project is currently untitled but an article from Collider mentions that it is internally known as Amsterdam. The plot apparently will involve a doctor and a lawyer forming some type of partnership. The only aspect of the movie that is known is its all-star cast.

The people on this list need no introduction but it’s nice to give some of them one anyway. The name that might stick out to most people at first glance is Taylor Swift. She’s a famous pop star but it is easy to forget that she has done a little acting here and there. Her last role was in the universally disliked live-action adaptation of Cats in 2019. Another standout name on this list is Anya Taylor-Joy, who has been receiving praise lately for her role in the Emmy award-winning The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix. Michael B. Jordan is also apparently in the film but isn’t listed on the IMDB page for it.
I mentioned before that the only aspect truly known about the movie is its cast. Well, I believe that just by casting Mike Meyers, the production team has indicated that this will be a comedy or at least have some comedic elements because when have you ever seen him star in something that wasn’t funny or at least trying to be. (We don’t talk about The Love Guru.) If you need any further proof that the movie will have some comedy, just know that Chris Rock has also been cast. He too has stuck mainly to comedy for much of his career. I don’t see him or Meyers changing things up this late in their careers.
As for everyone else in the cast, there’s just so much star power here. People like John David Washington and Rami Malek had or will have films coming out this year and they’ll be starring alongside veterans such as Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, and Robert Deniro.
David O Russell’s upcoming untitled film is one to keep an out for even if its plot and name are unknown.
