I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS
Charlie Kaufman + a Mega Talented Cast

“There’s something profoundly wrong here.”
The weirdest thriller of the last five years is finally getting a film adaptation. I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid puzzled and unsettled readers as they went on a wild, 200-page ride with the novel’s unnamed narrator. Now that narrator will be played by Irish actress Jessie Buckley, who you probably know from HBO’s Chernobyl.
Her co-star, Jesse Plemons, is no stranger to playing characters who make audiences uncomfortable, from his role on Breaking Bad to his turn on Fargo. And boy oh boy will his character in I’m Thinking of Ending Things make you uncomfortable.
Toni Collette and David Thewlis also star as Plemons’ parents; the former cut her horror teeth on 2018’s Hereditary while the latter is best known to American audiences as Harry Potter’s favorite professor.
Director Charlie Kaufman has a resume full of surreal, mind-bending films from Being John Malkovich to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This will be his first live action feature since Synecdoche, New York, which Roger Ebert deemed the best film of the 2000s.
