What comes to mind when you think about Hawaiian actor Jason Momoa? Do you automatically associate him with Khal Drogo in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones? Momoa recently revealed that after his character died at the end of the first season, he was in deep debt. He reportedly found it hard to get work following his departure from the show. Things eventually turned around for the actor after he became Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DC universe. Now, the actor is booked through the next few years. Let’s take a look at four of his new projects.

The Last Manhunt

Set in 1909 in the old west, Willie Boy, a long-distance Desert Runner from the Chemehuevi tribe, falls in love with Carlotta, the daughter of a Chemehuevi shaman. Carlotta’s father is opposed to their union and confronts Willie Boy. After her father dies of an accidental gunshot wound, Willie Boy and Carlotta go on the run.

Dune

Momoa stars as Duncan Idaho in Denis Villeneuve’s long-awaited adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune.  It follows a young nobleman who must protect the galaxy’s most valuable asset: the spice. The spice is a drug that extends human life and provides super-human abilities. The sci-fi epic Dune is set for release on October 1, 2021.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

If you’ve been hearing about an elusive “Snyder Cut” and wondering what it is, wonder no more. This four-part miniseries is Zack Snyder’s director cut of the 2017 Justice League movie that he had to stop filming partway through. Zack Snyder’s Justice League, aka the “Snyder Cut,” will air on HBO Max sometime next year.

Aquaman 2

No plot has been released, but Momoa will reprise his role as the sea superhero in this sequel to 2018s Aquaman. Aquaman 2 is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022.
