JOHN KRASINKI’s A QUIET PLACE 2
Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy: Masterclass in Suspense

The Abbott family may have fought off the creatures around their home during A Quiet Place, but that doesn’t mean it’s all smooth sailing from now on. In John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II, we pick up with the surviving members of the Abbott family: mother Evelyn (Emily Blunt), daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), and son Marcus (Noah Jupe), as they venture outside their home. Stepping into the outside world in silence, they soon learn that the creatures they once thought of as their only threat are not alone.
Although (SPOILER ALERT) John Krasinski’s Abbott patriarch, Lee, died in the first film, he will not be absent from the sequel. He will be seen in newly filmed flashback sequences throughout the new movie. We will also be introduced to several new characters who the Abbott’s meet along their journey. Cillian Murphy joins the cast as a man named Emmett. Murphy has said that his character is at a point where he has really just given up and feels that there is no hope. That all changes when the Abbotts enter his life. Djimon Hounsou also joins the cast as an as-yet unannounced character.
A Quiet Place Part II found its release date pushed back numerous times due to the coronavirus pandemic. It had its world premiere in New York on March 8, 2020, and was initially set for a release later that month. After a year’s worth of postponements, A Quiet Place Part II is officially scheduled for a theatrical release on May 28, 2021, which will be followed by a release on Paramount+ 45 days after.
Despite the fact that audiences have been waiting for this film’s release for over a year now, and there are those select viewers who were lucky enough to see it when it premiered, Paramount has been very good at keeping the plot details under wraps. In fact, we don’t really know any more about the project now than we did when it was first announced so long ago. Finally, we will get to see what it’s all about.
