She's Diana in Spencer + More Upcoming Roles
Kristen Stewart is Diana, Princess of Wales. In the leaked photos from the set for Spencer, Stewart can be seen modeling Diana’s iconic short, blonde wavy hair style.
Spencer is from director Pablo Larraín (Jackie), and writer Steven Knight (the pen behind Locke, Eastern Promises, and an oscar nominee for Dirty Pretty Things). The film co-stars Sally Hawkins, Sean Harris, Timothy Spall.
Stewart has described the film as taking place over three days in 1991 (5 years before Diana’s divorce from Charles, Prince of Wales), and focuses on Diana assessing her life on Christmas Eve.
According to reports, Stewart has been doing her own research and working with a dialect coach to nail the People’s Princess iconic voice and poise.
Spencer is being shot on location at Schlosshotel Kronberg in Germany, which is doubling for the Queen’s Sandringham Estate, in Norfolk, England. Unlike the Queen’s estate which is still a private home of Elizabeth II, today the Schlosshotel Kronberg is a five-star hotel (with a golf course designed by former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower).
There is currently no release date set for Spencer.
