You know French filmmaker Luc Besson, both as a writer and director and for his action and sci-fi films that feature kickass female leads. He is currently working on writing sequels to Lucy and Colombina. Now, let’s take a look at five of the director’s greatest films.

La Femme Nikita

After killing a cop, drug addict and felon Nikita (Anne Parillaud) has a choice. She can go to jail or join a secret government program. She picks  the latter and becomes a lethal assassin and spy for the government. What happens when she decides she’s had enough? Rent La Femme Nikita on Youtube.

Léon: The Professional

A 12-year-old Natalie Portman stars in this 1994 classic as Mathilda, a young girl taken in by Léon (Jean Reno), a professional assassin after her family is murdered. The Fifth Element

Milla Jovovich stars in this sci-fi classic as Leeloo, a perfect being created by the DNA of an entity known as the Fifth Element. Lucy

This 2014 film follows 25-year-old Lucy (Scarlett Johannson), an unwitting drug mule who ends up dosed with a synthetic drug that infuses her with superpowers. She uses these abilities to turn the tables on her captors. With the help of Morgan Freeman’s Professor Norman, she turns into a merciless warrior hellbent on revenge. Rent Lucy on Amazon.

Anna
