MICHAEL B JORDAN’S REIGN
In Denzel Washington's Journal For Jordan

It feels like we haven’t been able to escape Michael B. Jordan since his performance in 2018’s Black Panther. It was such an important role for him that it’s the only film on his IMDB entry. Some may think this made him a household name, but he’s been acting since childhood.
It said something about Jordan’s career when his very first acting role was on The Sopranos, one of the most popular tv shows of all time. His role on The Wire as Wallace was his next significant role and one of his most memorable for his longtime fans. He appeared in 12 episodes before being tragically killed off in Season 1. After The Wire, he appeared on the soap opera All My Children and in an episode of CSI in 2006.
His career would continue to feature these one-off appearances in Burn Notice, Without a Trace, and Cold Case. However, it started to change for Jordan around the early 2010s. He secured a role on Friday Night Lights during the show’s final season, he appeared in the video game Gears of War 3, taking on a part initially meant for rapper Drake, and he appeared in two films, Red Tails, and Chronicle.
The next big role for Jordan was Fruitvale Station, based on the true story of Oscar Grant. This film might be the most important in his career as Ryan Coogler directed it. After that, Coogler directed Black Panther and began a working relationship with Jordan. Next, he starred in Creed, also directed by Coogler. In 2015, two years after Fruitvale Station, Jordan played Johnny Storm in the intensely disliked Fantastic Four reboot from Fox. That job didn’t damage his career, as he bounced back with Creed that same year.
Since Black Panther in 2018, Jordan has mainly worked in films while occasionally appearing in shows such as Gen: Lock and Raising Dion. His 2021 film Without Remorse was an Amazon Prime hit and will be a sequel in the future. His next film is an emotional drama, A Journal for Jordan. The movie is about a soldier who fills a journal with advice for his infant son before dying in combat. Denzel Washington is the director, and it’s the fourth film he has directed.
After A Journal for Jordan, there are still plenty of roles for Michael B. Jordan, including Creed III and Wrong Answer. Jordan will be a busy man for the next few years, so you won’t have to ask yourself when his next film opens in theaters.
