MILA KUNIS KILLS IT
Her Upcoming Film Four Good Days with Glenn Close

Opioid addict Molly (portrayed by actress Mila Kunis) decides to use an opioid antagonist injection to help her with sobriety. But Molly needs to stay sober for 4 full days in order to be eligible for the treatment.
In the new film Four Good Days, Glenn Close stars as Deb, a woman trying to keep her opioid addicted daughter Molly clean for those critical 96 hours. During that crucial period, the mother and daughter use the time to try to repair their relationship and chart a new path forward with their lives. Deb has spent years carrying guilt about her daughter’s addiction. And Molly wants to escape her family’s label as the broken young woman.
Close teams up again with Colombian director Rodrigo García. He directed Close to her 6th Academy Award nomination in the 2011 drama film Albert Nobbs. García also directed Close (among many others including the Oscar winning actresses Sissy Spacek and Holly Hunter) in the 2005 vignette-structured film Nine Lives. He is also known for the television series In Treatment, which he directed 21 episodes of after developing it for HBO.

The ensemble of Four Good Days also features the iconic character actor Stephen Root (an Emmy nominee for HBO’s Barry) as Molly’s step-father, Chris.
The screenplay is based on journalist Eli Saslow’s article “How’s Amanda? A Story of Truth, Lies and an American Addiction,” that was published in 2016 in the Washington Post. His article focuses on Amanda Wendler and Libby Alexander, who become the movie’s Molly and Deb, respectively.

Saslow co-wrote the screenplay with García. As a journalist for the Washington Post, Saslow has covered stories that put national trends into perspective through examining individuals across the United States. For his reporting Saslow has been a Pulitzer finalist multiple times for stories about the human toll of natural disasters, the impact of gun violence and the fraying of the United States’ social safety net. He won in 2014 for his Explanatory Reporting for his story series with the Washington Post about hunger and food stamps in America.
Four Good Days premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2020. It will have a limited theatrical release starting on April 30, 2021. And it will be available for streaming through a video on demand release on May 21, 2021.
