This past Monday, Sebastian Stan picked a fant-ass-tic way to promote his new film Monday.

Standing with his back to the camera —without pants— and wearing only an unzipped coat, the cheeky stunt brought attention to the sizzling romantic drama that opens this Friday.

Should Stan take up Captain America’s shield at the end of the currently airing Disney+ TV series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, he can definitely be  “America’s Ass.”

In Monday, Stan portrays Mickey, a DJ who wakes up naked on a Greek beach with his drunken hookup Chloe (Denise Gough). Mickey has a checkered romantic history. His friends find him to be a bit of a player who doesn’t know how to keep a good thing going. They seem surprised that he would still be interested in Chloe after a wild weekend of partying and romantic adventure on the Greek Isles.

Along their Odyssey, Chloe encounters Mickey’s friends and exes. These characters of friends include Bastian (Dominique Tipper, known as the engineer Naomi Nagata in the sci-fi TV series The Expanse), Christos (Andreas Konstantinou), and Stephanie (Sofia Kokkali). They warn Chloe of Mickey’s past, broken promises and romantic failures.

But Mickey feels a connection with Chloe and goes all out on the dramatic gestures —running to the airport, announcing their love to a crowd— to keep her from leaving the country.

Gough is best known for her Olivier Award winning stage work in London, American audiences have seen Gough as the single-mom to King Arthur Jr in The Kid Who Would Be King, and will see her in the upcoming Disney+ star wars series Andor

Greek Director Argyris Papadimitropoulos co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Hayes (behind 2020’s Gretel & Hansel film, and episodes of British TV comedy Chewing Gum).

The film premiered in September 2020 as part of Industry Selects at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will be released this Friday, April 16, 2021.
