PROFILE: MAYA HAWKE
Stranger Things' Season 3 Breakout Star
If you’re anything like me, you clapped, and loudly at that, when (Spoiler) Robin came out to Steve in Stranger Things Season 3. Let’s take a few moments to get to know the actor behind Robin, Maya Hawke. No, it’s no coincidence that she looks like the combination of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, she is their daughter. Actually, funny story, Maya Hawke is the same age as my younger brother and she grew up going to the same playground my brother and I went to as kids, she and my brother used to play together while her mom and my dad would chat. I’m sure neither Hawke nor Thurman remembers this, but my dad sure does.

Maya Hawke was born on July 8, 1998 in New York City, the older of two children born to Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. She has a younger brother and three half-sisters. She attended the Brooklyn private school, Saint Anne’s, a school with an emphasis on artistic creativity and does not have grades, she credits this with helping her find her passion for acting. Before she got into acting however, she started her career as a model, modeling for Vogue, All Saints, and Calvin Klein.
She made her acting debut in the 2017 BBC miniseries, Little Women (not to be confused with the upcoming Greta Gerwig film adaptation of the novel). Her real breakout, of course, was when she took on the aforementioned role of Robin Buckley in the 3rd season of Netflix’s Stranger Things. She also had a featured role as Linda Kasabian (credited as Flower Child) in Quentin Tarantino’s newest film, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. In addition to having new films on the horizon, Hawke sings, and has also released two singles “To Love A Boy” and “Stay Open”, which she co-wrote and recorded with Grammy-winner Jesse Harris.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Maya Hawke in the future, and I for one, am stoked for season 4 of Stranger Things. #FindRobinAGirlfriend!
