PROVOKR PICK: FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY
Ringside with Florence Pugh, Lena Headey, The Rock & Vince Vaughn

Fighting With My Family is a boisterous, wacky and heartfelt ringside tale based on the 2012 documentary Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family. Round one tells the story of a former wrestler and his family performing at small venues to earn a living while the kids dream of the WWE. Set in Norwich, England, the father is played by Nick Frost and his wife is played by Lena Headey of Game of Thrones fame. They have wonderful banter and a warm raucous relationship. The son Zak, played by Jack Lowden, and daughter Paige, played by Florence Pugh, get a chance to try out for the big time.
Round two has Paige making the cut and leaving her closely knit family to enter the big, bad world of professional wrestling. Florence Pugh’s performance is utterly remarkable. Round three is the pay off as the wrestling crowd embraces her as she rises to be a champion. Film audiences will feel genuine affection for the story and all it’s characters including The Rock, as himself, in an extended cameo and Vince Vaughn as Hutch.
The film was written, produced and directed by Stephen Merchant, who has an amazing host of writing and producing credits behind him including the original BBC series The Office, Logan and Extras. Knowing nothing of the wrestling world he was smitten with Paige’s story and bonded with Dwayne Johnson over the WWE. He has written a very funny, fast paced dialogue. Dwayne Johnson is the executive producer of the film. The action fight scenes were shot on location in LA following the actual WWE fights. Real sweat, real heart, real fun, and real love capped with an incredible performance by Florence Pugh makes this film a knock out.
