PROVOKR Pick: John Wick 3

The Third installment of Keanu Reeves’ action-packed film franchise hits theaters, and with Halle Berry as a new cast addition, fans of the Wick movies will no doubt have plenty of thrills. Some critics are even being as bold as saying it’s the best John Wick film yet.

Taking off right where the last film left us, John Wick has found himself a hunted man; an assassin with a target on his back. The hit man suddenly becomes the one on the run. With a bounty on his head for a whopping $14 million, Wick is in a race and fight for his life, one that begins in the grisly, hustling streets of New York City. His battle has only just begun though, as he finds himself fighting off killers the world over.

John Wick connects with Sofia, his female assassin match played by Berry, in Morocco. She agrees to join him in battle. But she does not come alone. Sofia comes armed with 2 vicious, violent dogs that seem to take on their own character roles in Parabellum. No stranger to fight scenes herself, Berry proves a good fight partner in the role, as the violence only escalates. Plus, she’s Halle Berry!

The Hollywood Reporter calls the movie “an epic of choreographed mayhem that expands the Wickiverse in mostly pleasing ways, it is destined to satisfy fans of this surprise-hit franchise.”

Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and Laurence Fishburne also lend their weight to the film.

Director Chad Stahelski says that if audiences like this latest John Wick, he’s prepared to work on a more chapters down the road. “I enjoy making these movies because there’s no limit,” he told Entertainment Weekly. John Wick fans, stay tuned.
