Jordan Peele Delivers Thrills with New Horror Movie
Jordan Peele makes his directorial return to the screen with his latest horror-film smash hit Us.The 80s-esque thriller follows off the heels of his critically-acclaimed debut as a director in Get Out. And after a record-breaking weekend at the box office, Peele proves his prowess in the scary movie genre.
Written, directed and produced by Peele, the film stars Lupita Nyong’o as Adele Wilson, a woman haunted by a traumatic childhood experience. Her hauntings have just begun, however, as Adele and her family are forced to fight for their survival against their own masked doppelgängers. For the actress, the fear was very real. “I was fairly terrified just reading the script,” she said in a recent interview in Rolling Stone. She admits that in playing the dual role of Adele and her evil match Red, she had to go to a very deep, dark place.
Sci-fi, thriller and dark comedy all meld into one in the form of this film, following the same potion that proved quite successful for Peele in Get Out. Mystery, suspense, action, irony and perfectly-timed precision will leave theatergoers and critics alike wanting to watch this film again. And again.
