READY OR NOT
Here Come The In-Laws From Hell!

We all know in-laws can be tough, but at least you’re not marrying into the Le Domas gaggle, excuse me, dominion. Unfortunately for Grace (Samara Weaving), she falls in love with Alex (Mark O”Brien) and marries into his wacky family. Wacky may be a bit of an understatement, see the Le Domas’ are a massively wealthy board game dynasty who have a very specific wedding tradition, whenever one of the Le Domas children gets married, on the wedding night, the new spouse must play a game with the entire family in order to truly be welcomed in. Unlucky for Grace, the game that she picks is Hide and Seek, uh oh.
See, this is no ordinary game of Hide and Seek, for the Le Domas clan is a blood sport. In this rendition of Hide and Seek, Grace must hide while the entire family tries to hunt her down, and kill her to fulfill some ritualistic sacrifice. Alex probably should have filled his new bride in on his family’s practices before she agreed to marry into his family, keeping such large secrets for your significant other is definitely not the foundation on which to build a strong relationship. Now, instead of getting to spend her wedding night with her new husband, Grace must fight for her life against his satanic family. And you thought your in-laws were bad.
Now, I must admit, I have already seen Ready Or Not courtesy of Fox Searchlight, and this movie is rollicking good fun. Exactly the kind of summer, slasher fun that you want when going to this kind of film. So go see it, cheer Grace on as she hides, runs and fights for survival. You’ll have a blast.
In addition to Weaving and O’Brien, Ready Or Not also stars Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Melanie Scrofano, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, and Andie MacDowell. It was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a script written by Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy, not that Ryan Murphy. The film will be released on August 21, 2019.
