The Aviator
How much do you know about the legendary Howard Hughes (Leonardo DiCaprio)? From Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale) to Katharine Hepburn (Cate Blanchett), he had quite a few high profile lovers. Yet, despite his very active love life, this film is relatively chaste. Yes, yes Hughes was a famous germaphobe, but he was no monk. Let’s give him the sexiness he deserves.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar shared his thoughts about superhero movies. According to him, they’re just not sexy enough. We’re inclined to agree. There are loads of superhero movies to choose from for a sexy remake but the one that calls to us, most, is Captain America: The First Avenger. This one is pulsating with sexual tension that is never satisfied. Just think how much better it would be if Steve (Chris Evans) and Peggy (Hayley Atwell) actually got to get it on.
Duplicity
For a movie about two sexy spies (Julia Roberts and Clive Owen) who will do almost anything, which includes seducing each other, to get the job done, this movie is devoid of seduction. We’re not saying that this movie is totally sexless, just, that it’s too chaste to live up to its potential. So let’s redo it so our spies can show off their skills. And we don’t just mean their espionage expertise.
Point Break
Something feels like its missing in this movie about bank robbing surfers. It may be the failure to take Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) and Bodhi’s (Patrick Swayze) relationship beyond platonic. It’s chock-full of homoeroticism, but that’s not enough. In fact, the way to truly make this film work is to make Johnny and Bodhi a couple. How else do you explain Johnny’s spurned lover routine when he finds out the truth about Bodhi?
The Talented Mr. Ripley
The Talented Mr. Ripley is an excellent film and features one of Matt Damon’s best performances to date. However, the sexiness could be amped up. Ripley is a surprisingly sexless character but his apparent attraction to Dickie (Jude Law) is unreciprocated. And, what about when he meets Peter (Jack Davenport)? This movie came out 20 years ago, so now may be the time for Ripley and Peter to express their love for one another.
