So Sexy, So Scary

What do fear and sexual arousal have in common? Quite a lot actually. According to psychologists, the body’s response to both fear and arousal are similar and can easily become intertwined. Just think of that rush of adrenaline you get when you’re watching a scary movie, now think of the rush you get when you’re aroused. Similar feelings, right? Why does this happen? I can’t entirely explain that, but just think of the bad girl or bad boy trope. The attraction to someone dangerous, we all know it’s wrong, but something within us can’t help that animal instinct, that pull of attraction. Perhaps it’s the rush that comes with making it through something dangerous or terrifying that enhances sexual desire. Whatever it is, filmmakers have long known that fear and sexual arousal have long gone together and have used that in thrillers and horror films for a long time.

Now, insanely talented editor, Clara Darko, is back with Sexy Horror, another montage commissioned for PROVOKR that perfectly blends the horror and the eroticism of scary movies. In this video, Darko utilizes clips from some of the sexiest horror movies there are, including: American Psycho, The Hunger, Jennifer’s Body, Videodrome, Black Swan, and many more.
