SKARSGÅRD ROARS
Alexander Skarsgård's Upcoming Projects

What is it about the Skarsgård men that tickles our fancy? Is it their inherent ability to terrify us while arousing us at the same time? Competing with Bill for the acclaimed honor of being the sexiest scary Skarsgård, is older brother Alexander. Alexander first whet our appetites as the deliciously sexy vampire Eric in HBO’s True Blood. Now, let’s take a look at some of Alexander Skarsgård’s new projects.
THE KILL TEAM
Alexander Skarsgård stars in this fictionalized account of the Maywand District murders during the war in Afghanistan. The film follows Andrew Briggman (Nat Wolff), a US Private at odds with his platoon. His squad is under orders by Sergeant Deeks (Skarsgård) to murder civilians in the Middle East. The Kill Team was written and directed by Dan Krauss, based on his award winning documentary of the same name. This film promises to be intense, especially given its source material. Unfortunately, events like the ones depicted in this film happen too frequently in times of war. The Kill Team opens in theaters on October 25, 2019.
GODZILLA V. KONG
In a bit of a change from the characters Skarsgård usually plays, he describes his character in the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong as not an alpha-male hero but just a guy who is thrown into a situation for which he is not equipped. Other details about his character, including his name have not yet been released. In fact, not much is known about this film other than what the title clearly gives away…that they will fight it out. Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled for theatrical release on March 13, 2020.
THE STAND
Skarsgård will be portraying an important role in an upcoming television miniseries The Stand. It’s an adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name. The Stand is set in a post-apocalyptic landscape after a man-made plague has wiped out most of humanity. 108-year old Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg) and a handful of survivors are fighting for survival. Enter Randall Flagg, aka the Dark Man (Skarsgård), a powerful character who embodies their sexist scary nightmares. A release date has not yet been set for this miniseries, but expect it to drop sometime in 2020 on CBS All Access.
