Spider-Man No Way Home
What? A Reunion of 6 Villains and 3 Spider-Man!

This December, everyone’s favorite webslinger will return to theaters for one of his most ambitious cinematic adventures in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There have been nonstop rumors since 2019 about this film. My jaw dropped reading that Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus would be returning along with Wilhem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn in a new Spider-Man movie. I’d like to report that after the release of the No Way Home trailer, my jaw dropped once again.
For those unaware, the newest Spider-Man movie will focus on Peter Parker dealing with his secret identity being revealed at the end of the last movie, Far From Home. He’s so desperate to make everyone forget that he’s Spider-Man that he goes to Doctor Strange for help. Strange responds by casting a spell that will do exactly what Peter wants but it looks like things get out of control quickly. The multiverse opens up, bringing in Spider-Man characters from other universes. This is how we end up with villains from the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films meeting Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Speaking of Tobey Maguire, the worst kept secret right now is his and Andrew Garfield’s involvement with the film. There haven’t been any on-set photo leaks but the fact that villains from both actor’s respective films are making an appearance makes it likely that they will too. As someone who saw Spider-Man 2 in theaters and even owned a VHS of the first film, this excites me. When I see No Way Home and see all three Spider-Men in a scene together, I might just cry even though I can’t stand Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker.
This movie is pretty much going to be the live-action version of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and I’m okay with that. We haven’t seen a live-action Spider-Man have to deal with multiple other Spider-Men so it’ll be something different. Since there are multiple versions of Spider-Man, could we see multiple versions of his love interest? Kirsten Dunst originally played Mary Jane but there’s a slight chance she may appear alongside Zedaya in this movie. I guess we’ll find out who’s really in No Way Home when it comes out on December 17.
