Stars Of American Assassin
Four tough men that kick some serious ass

The coolest adult-aimed action movie of the fall season is American Assassin. Based on the best-selling book series by Vince Flynn, this high-octane spy thriller promises drama, explosions, testosterone, and hunky guys punching each other in the necks. The latest trailer promises hard-hitting R-rated action, and hot action stars doing what they do best. Let’s take a look at the men of American Assassin.
Dylan O’Brien
Lead character Mitch Rapp is being played by Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien, one of the most promising young actors working today, although it’s a miracle he’s even alive to be in this movie. During a stunt gone wrong on Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Dylan was struck by a car during a chase scene, and was incapacitated by his injuries for months. Fortunately, he recovered, and is back to kick some ass!
Taylor Kitsch
While Mitch Rapp is the young agent being recruited by the CIA, Taylor Kitsch is Ghost, a lost agent-turned-terrorist. Kitsch made his bones on the Friday Night Lights television series before launching (perhaps too soon) into a movie career. Despite high-profile bombs like John Carter and Battleship, Kitsch remains a beloved character actor, with his signature role being a steely-eyed rogue. We’re looking forward to some brutal smackdowns between Rapp and Ghost.
Michael Keaton
Guns and close-combat brawls aren’t just for young people like Kitsch and O’Brien. In American Assassin, old-school badass Michael Keaton is on hand to show the kids how it’s done. Keaton plays Stan Hurley, the CIA mentor who trained Ghost back in the day, and is now teaching Mitch Rapp how to kill with cold efficiency. Keaton, of course, starred as one of the most iconic comic book action heroes of all time, Batman, in the 1989 Tim Burton flick and its 1992 sequel, Batman Returns.
Scott Adkins
One of the most underrated action stars in the world is Scott Adkins. A world-class martial artist and star of the surprisingly brutal straight-to-video sequel, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Adkins has popped up in a variety of big action movies. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, he was the stunt performer for Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and fought against Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber. In The Expendables 2, he fought Jason Statham (before being spectacularly dispatched by a conveniently-placed helicopter tail rotor), and in Doctor Strange, his astral form took on that of Benedict Cumberbatch in a truly unique fight scene. For American Assassin, we fully expect Adkins to go toe-to-toe with O’Brien and show off his VanDamme-esque flying kicks!
