We couldn’t be more excited about the newest James Bond movie, No Time To Die, that comes out on April 10, 2020. But, before Daniel Craig’s last time playing the debonair spy, let’s take a look at the top 10 Bond Girls of all time.

Anya Amasova

Portrayed by: Barbara Bach

Bond Movie: The Spy Who Loved Me

Why We Love Her: Anya Amasova is the female equivalent of Bond, taking lovers and kicking ass. At first, she is a formidable opponent for Bond until they realize they are working toward the same goal and team up. She proves that she is as good an agent as Bond and just as sexy too.

Tracy Bond

Portrayed by: Diana Rigg

Bond Movie: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

Why We Love Her: Of course we had to include the woman who finally ties Bond down. Though reluctant to fall in love at first, James Bond kept turning to Tracy for help against Blofeld. Eventually, he realizes he loves her. He marries her and retires from service only to return when Blofeld murders Tracy. RIP Mrs. Bond.

Pussy Galore

Portrayed by: Honor Blackman

Bond Movie: Goldfinger

Why We Love Her: Aside from the absurdly suggestive name, she is the first unscrupulous Bond girl to switch to the right side after falling for Bond. While the book portrays Galore as a lesbian who hasn’t met the right man and connects her immorality to her sexuality, the movie thankfully removes that homophobic trope.

Jinx

Portrayed by: Halle Berry

Bond Movie: Die Another Day

Why We Love Her: For starters, she is the first heroic African-American Bond girl of the franchise. When this character first appeared, she was so popular that she almost landed a spin-off. Not only does she drag Bond out of his depression, but she is a tough NSA agent in her own right who proves to be a perfect partner for the dashing MI6 agent.

Wai Lin

Portrayed by: Michelle Yeoh

Bond Movie: Tomorrow Never Dies

Why We Love Her: Like Jinx and Anya Amasova, Wai Lin proves to be a perfect partner for Bond. Also, unlike the portrayal of Asian women as submissive in You Only Live Twice (and we’re not even talking about Bond’s yellow-face), Wai Lin submits to no one. She fights alongside Bond as an equal and she shows off her kick-ass martial arts skills.

Vesper Lynd

Portrayed by: Eva Green

Bond Movie: Casino Royale

Why We Love Her: Like Tracy Bond, Vesper Lynd is a woman who can break down Bond’s barriers. Unlike Tracy, Lynd is a double agent, although unwittingly. Bond leaves MI6 to be with Lynd until he learns Lynd is working against him. Although she flips back to the ethical side, she sacrifices herself to save Bond. The agent is never the same after her death.

Octopussy

Portrayed by: Maud Adams

Bond Movie: Octopussy

Why We Love Her: She’s another Bond girl with an insanely provocative name. Can anyone say Octopussy with a straight face? And yes, the name is linked to her love of octopi. Octopussy is a Bond girl who falls solidly in the gray zone of morality. While she is a criminal, she readily works with Bond to bring down the villain, but she never totally switches from evil to good.

Xenia Onatopp

Portrayed by: Famke Janssen

Bond Movie: GoldenEye

Why We Love Her: Who doesn’t love a bad girl? Xenia Onatopp is as unsavory as they come. We love watching her antics. This villainous vixen kills men with joy, often mid-sex. We also love her for the way she gleefully murders men by squeezing them to death using nothing but her thighs.

Honey Ryder

Portrayed by: Ursula Andress

Bond Movie: Dr. No

Why We Love Her: Honey Ryder may not be the most self-sufficient Bond girl, but she is considered the first Bond girl of the series and therefore, deserves a place on this list. Of course, no discussion of Honey Ryder would be complete without mentioning her introduction when she emerges from the ocean in a bikini. It’s a classic scene that would later be repeated by Jinx in Die Another Day.

Dr. Madeleine Swann

Portrayed by: Léa Seydoux

Bond Movie: Spectre

Why We Love Her: Like Tracy Bond and Vesper Lynd, Madeleine Swann breaks through Bond’s tough exterior. While she may be the daughter of SPECTRE’s Mr. White, she is not part of the criminal organization. And though not a fan of guns, she helps Bond with his mission. At the end of the film, instead of killing Blofeld, Bond leaves with Swann. Lucky for us, Swann will return in No Time To Die.
