Wes Anderson is Back With a Great Cast + Trailer

Wes Anderson‘s love of The New Yorker inspired The French Dispatch that takes place in an office of an American publication in a fictional 20th-century French city. It follows three separate storylines based on actual events covered by The New Yorker. The trailer is now available and the quirky, creative Anderson looks to be in peak form. Watch the trailer here and then let’s take a look at some of the fantastic cast.
BENICIO DEL TORO
Who he’s playing: Moses Rosenthaler, described as an incarcerated artist.
How you know him: The Usual Suspects, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and as The Collector in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

FRANCES MCDORMAND
Who she’s playing: Lucinda Krementz, a journalist at the Dispatch who profiles student revolutionaries.
How you know her: her longtime collaboration with the Coen brothers and her Best Actress Oscars for both Fargo and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

JEFFREY WRIGHT
Who he’s playing: Roebuck Wright, a food journalist at the Dispatch.
How you know him: playing Felix Leiter in the Daniel Craig Bond movies, The Hunger Games and Westworld.

ADRIEN BRODY
Who he’s playing: Julien Cadazio, an art dealer.
How you know him: winning a Best Actor Oscar for The Pianist. This is his fourth movie with Anderson after The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
TILDA SWINTON
Who she’s playing: J. K. L. Berensen, a writer for the Dispatch.
How you know her: playing the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia movies, Doctor Strange and Derek Jarman’s experimental movies. It is her fourth Anderson project that also includes Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET
Who he’s playing: Zeffirelli, one of the students profiled by Krementz.
How you know him: Call Me By Your Name (who could forget that peach scene), breaking Saoirse Ronan’s heart in Lady Bird and getting his heart crushed by her in Little Women.
LÉA SEYDOUX
Who she’s playing: Simone, a prison guard who is also Rosenthaler’s muse.
How you know her: Midnight in Paris, winning the Palme d’Or for Blue is the Warmest Colour and playing a Bond girl in Spectre. It is her third collaboration with Anderson after The Grand Budapest Hotel and the short film Prada Candy L’Eau.
OWEN WILSON
Who he’s playing: Herbsaint Sazerac, a writer for the Dispatch.
How you know him: Midnight in Paris, working with Ben Stiller on titles including Zoolander and Meet the Parents. He is a longtime Anderson collaborator and shared writing credits with Anderson on the Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums.

MATHIEU AMALRIC
Who he’s playing: an unnamed character to date.
How you know him: he’s better-known in his native France, but American audiences have seen him in Quantum of Solace and Munich. It is his second film with Anderson after The Grand Budapest Hotel.
LYNA KHOUDRI
Who she’s playing: Juliette, one of the students profiled by Krementz.
How you may know her: Khoudri has been working steadily in France for the last few years, so you may not be familiar with her. This will be her first major motion picture.
STEPHEN PARK
Who he’s playing: his character’s name hasn’t been revealed.
How you know him: he was a stand-up comedian before becoming an actor. He was also a member of the sketch comedy series In Living Color and acted in Fargo and Do The Right Thing.
BILL MURRAY
Who he’s playing: Arthur Howitzer Jr., the editor of the Dispatch.
How you know him: Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters and reprising his Groundhog Day character for a Super Bowl LIV commercial. He is also a longtime Anderson collaborator. It is his ninth film with the director.

The film also features Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss, Guillaume Gallienne, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revolori, Lois Smith, Rupert Friend, Saoirse Ronan, Henry Winkler, Christoph Waltz, Bob Balaban, Cécile de France, Hippolyte Girardot and Anjelica Huston.

The French Dispatch will be released on July 24 by Searchlight Pictures.
