Edward Norton + Jessica Biel Are Magical
You are in for a magical treat, PROVOKRs. For this week’s Movie of the Week, we have the 2006 film The Illusionist.
The 19th century period drama follows magician Eisenheim (Edward Norton) who uses his abilities to win the love of Sophia (Jessica Biel). Sophie is well above Eisenheim’s social standing, though, so the accomplishment is impressive and takes a lot of work. The central conflict involves Inspector Uhl (Paul Giamatti) who is out to capture Eisenheim.
The Illusionist is directed by Neil Burger, who also adapted the screenplay from the short story by Steven Millhauser called “Eisenheim the Illusionist.” Burger also directed Divergent, a handful of Billions episodes and the upcoming sex in space film Voyagers.
