A Tsunami is Unleashed on a Norwegian Village

Don’t confuse this 2015 Norwegian natural disaster film with the 1981 after-school TV special of the same name. The Wave, follows geologist Kristian Eikjord (Kristoffer Joner) and his family as they have to fight to survive when a massive landslide causes a 260-foot tall tsunami. The Wave was directed by Roar Uthaug, from a script co-written by John Kåre Raake and Harald Rosenløw-Eeg. It was Norway’s official submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards. Although it failed to get nominated, it is a thrilling film.
