ADAM DRIVES US
Adam Driver's Upcoming Films

Here at PROVOKR we love Adam Driver. Who doesn’t? He’s an incredibly versatile actor who can seamlessly transition from making you laugh to terrifying you to maybe also arousing you. With all that in mind, we decided to take a look at the varied roles Driver will play in upcoming films.
MARRIAGE STORY
Adam Driver and Provokr’s favorite leading lady, Scarlett Johansson, star in this Netflix movie, written and directed by Noah Baumbach. Marriage Story follows NYC-based theatre director, Charlie (Driver) and LA actress, Nicole (Johansson) as a married couple going through a brutal divorce while living on different coasts. Baumbach apparently took inspiration from his own 2013 divorce from Jennifer Jason Leigh in creating this relatable story. This film has been wracking up acclaim at every festival screening and with a cast that includes Laura Dern, Alan Alda and Ray Liotta, in addition to Driver and Johansson, is that really any surprise? Marriage Story gets a limited theatrical release on November 6, 2019, followed by a December 6, 2019 release on Netflix.
THE REPORT
Raise your hand if you read the declassified The Senate Intelligence Committee Report on Torture and thought it would make a great docudrama. Scott Z. Burns sure thought it would be riveting drama and, thus, is the premise of Amazon’s new movie The Report. The film stars Driver as Daniel Jones, a senate staffer tasked with leading the investigation into the CIA’s use of torture on suspects following the 9/11 attacks. It brings to light the unethical and ineffective tactics the CIA was putting into play. Trying to bring this scandal to light became a fight of its own, with the Senate having to contend with not only the CIA, but the White House as well. The Report will be in theaters on November 15, 2019, followed by a November 29, 2019 release on Amazon Prime.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
More Kylo Ren? Yes, please. Driver returns in the latest iteration in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The 9th and possibly final chapter of the Skywalker saga picks up a year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The remaining members of the Resistance must again face off with the First Order, while the conflict between the Jedi and the Sith finally reaches its peak. Of course, those who have been following the push-and-pull between Kylo Ren and Rey (Daisy Ridley) will be wondering who will finally triumph in the battle of good vs. evil. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters on December 20, 2019.
