Our pick this week is Voyagers. Penned and helmed by Neil Burger (Divergent, The Illusionist), it will hit theaters Friday, April 6. 

Richard Alling, played by Colin Farrell (The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Lobster), sends 30 young men and women, including Christopher, Sela, and Zac played by Tye Sheridan, Lily-Rose Depp, and Fionn Whitehead, respectively, to colonize a distant planet to save the human race. Genius idea! These people have been born without family, bred without emotion, and sent without choice. Another great idea! Just keep all pesky human connection and feeling out of the way; what could go wrong?!

 

Everything! The madness starts once the crew discovers that their Tang is spiked with a toxin. The mixture turned them into unemotional automatons for their entire existence. Imagine that these sexy, twenty-something-geniuses go off to college, live in the same dorm, and then quit taking drugs. All of them discover feelings at the same time, for the first time, in space! Sex, human urges, and rock n’ roll.

 

This sexy space thriller promises to be a real trip.
