We just can’t quit film’s new undercover cowboy
There’s a cowboy-cool thing happening lately, can you feel it? The new cowboy has a sexy smoulder, he’s just a little bit country and he’s a lot complicated, keeping us on the edge of our seats. The most recent arrival is Wheeler, an aspiring musician from Kaufman, Texas played by Stephen Dorff. To fully embody this title role, Dorff went deep undercover. In character during the entire filming, only a few key cast members were even aware that Dorff was an actor and not actually Wheeler himself.
As Wheeler, Dorff infiltrates Music City—Nashville, Tennessee—and takes his character on an authentic singer/songwriter journey with real people in real locations, performing every musical number live. We see the line between reality and fiction blur as Wheeler chases his dream and meets country legends like Kris Kristofferson, Bobby Tomberlin and Audrey Spillman along the way.
