Women Who Kill: a chiller
A clever, horror-tinged LGBT rom-com thriller

Many are the film trailers that show the best bits of an upcoming movie and conveniently leave out the other ninety plus minutes of snooze-inducing nothingness. The preview for writer/director Ingrid Jungermann’s Women Who Kill is not one of those.
Opening in theaters on July 26, after months of generating the best kind of buzz on the film festival circuit (including last year’s Tribeca Film Festival where it was named one of the best films on the lineup), this deadpan, romantic thriller features super smart dialogue, a noir setting that the filmmakers are not afraid to poke fun at, and the very best kind of a complicated love story.
Jungermann (creator of the web series F to 7th) and Ann Carr co-star as two podcasters living in Park Slope who host a show about female serial killers. They also happen to be ex-girlfriends, and their professional relationship begins to fray when Jungerman starts dating a girl (Sheila Vand of A Girl Walks Home Alone) with a dangerous past. In the midst of the macabre, there are plenty of “in” and not so “in” jokes about the preciousness of Brooklyn…after all, “danger girl” works in the local food co-op.
