Kirsten Dunst stars in the surreal story
“Sweet yet menacing.” That’s how Vogue magazine has described the fashion collections of Rodarte, by the sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. One could say the same thing about the trailer for their upcoming debut film, Woodshock. Starring the sweet yet menacing actor Kirsten Dunst, the film explores the aftermath of trauma. Kirsten stars as Theresa, a young woman who uses a deadly drug combination to help her long-ailing mother pass to the other side. The postmortem of her actions, takes the already unstable Theresa into the depths of depression and potential insanity.
Beautifully shot, the surreal film promises to be both spellbinding and sublime storytelling. What else could we expect from such inventive creators as the Mulleavy siblings? The film opens September 22nd.
