Since her days as a Disney Channel tween, Zendaya has proven that she is an amazing actor and a smart businesswoman. And now, at 24, she’s the youngest person to ever win an Emmy in a Lead Actress for a Drama Series. You go girl. After her first Disney Channel show (Shake It Up) ended, she teamed up with The House of Mouse for a new show, K.C. Undercover. But this time, she was the show’s lead and a producer on the series that ran from 2015-2018. What makes that more impressive is that she was only 19 when she convinced Disney to give her a producing credit. Since then, she’s gone on to significant acclaim for her roles in the new Spider-Man movies, The Greatest Showman, and her part as drug-addicted Rue in HBO’s Euphoria. It’s a role for which she may garner a Primetime Emmy nomination. Let’s take a look at what projects Zendaya has on the horizon.

Dune

Zendaya plays Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic. The story follows a young nobleman, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), who embarks on a hero’s journey to save his family and people. Chani is an ally and love interest for Paul. Dune is scheduled for release on December 18, 2020.

Malcolm & Marie

Not much is known about this upcoming movie starring Zendaya and John David Washington and written/directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. This project filmed over two weeks during the coronavirus pandemic. All filming took place under lockdown at the Caterpillar House in California. While a release date has yet to be announced, Netflix just acquired the film’s distribution rights.

Finest Kind

Zendaya stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in this Brian Helgeland written and directed drama about two brothers who find themselves pulled into business with organized crime. Ansel Elgort was initially one of the film’s leads, but it looks like he is no longer associated with the project.

Untitled Spider-Man Sequel

Zendaya will reprise her role as Michelle “M.J.” in the next Spider-Man movie. What we know is that this Jon Watts-directed project will follow the events of Spider-Man Far From Home. We can expect to see this superhero movie in December 2021.
