In the world of music, seminal figures adhere to our memory to create an image of what is classic in a genre. PROVOKR offers a list of ten missed artists. We yearn to hear the powerful but tender voice of Whitney Houston that she displayed on “I Will Always Love You.” We miss the liveliness of Prince’s music and the escapism David Bowie provided in his soaring songs. Amy Winehouse’s vulnerability had us aching, and Kurt Cobain took us to that special place with Nirvana. Lil Peep and XXXTentacion gave us one of our favorite collabs before their unexpected deaths. Aaliyah influenced years of R&B music and set our souls on fire with her smooth vocals. 2Pac brought his all to his rhythmic verses and transformed the way we listen to rap music. We think of Selena everyday and how the music world would be so much better had she not been murdered. Avicii lit up stadiums and produced our hits. We wish we could just wake him up. Their music inspired the world and the generations of musicians after them. Their voices are needed now more than ever, so PROVOKR curated this special playlist to bring some light into your life. PROVOKR invites you to pause, go online to check out the music look, then enjoy and remember them.
