A$AP ROCKY’S COMEBACK
New Tracks OTW + Music’s Hottest New Couple
A$AP Rocky is well-established as one of the hottest rappers currently making music. Both as a solo artist and as a member of the rap collective A$AP Mob, he’s earned a number of awards and accolades for his music-making and production skills. He’s been making more big moves in recent months.
A$AP Rocky last released an album in 2018. He dropped a few non-album singles in 2019, but went quiet in 2020. However, he’s already kicked off 2021 with a bang. In January, A$AP Rocky collaborated with upcoming UK rapper slowthai to create “MAZZA.” The high-energy track reached number 94 on the UK chart.
In February, the second A$AP track of the year dropped. “G-Unit Rice” was posted to Instagram by Hidji, a fellow member of A$AP Rocky’s creative agency AWGE. Unfortunately it’s not yet available on streaming platforms and has been removed from Instagram. But you can give the song a listen on YouTube. Its chill vibe is reminiscent of A$AP’s earlier work, and has been drawing strong Frank Ocean comparisons. (Do we detect an upcoming collab?)
Fans are hoping the surprise release of “G-Unit Rice” means A$AP Rocky’s fourth studio album is on the way. One of A$AP’s started teasing the album, reportedly titled All $miles, in late 2019. But the rapper himself has yet to confirm a new album is on the way. After almost three years since his last record release, we’re hoping for the best.
And last but not least, we’d be fools not to mention A$AP Rocky’s latest rumoured romance. He’s reportedly been dating Rihanna for months after their longtime friendship turned into something more intimate. Their relationship was all but confirmed during the 2020 holidays when the two were spotted together in Barbados. We truly couldn’t imagine a more beautiful couple.
