She’s not a warbling folkie or an all-out rocker, and though her songs of love and pain have brought her a devoted following, indie siren Angel Olsen is unmistakably her own woman. Her recently released third album, aptly titled My Woman, was dubbed a “fearlessly generous record” by HMV, and critic Jenn Pelly raved, “Angel Olsen’s latest is her best record yet, a bracing mix of sounds and styles.” The 29-year-old Olsen hails from St. Louis and is now based in Asheville, North Carolina.
