Angus & Julia Stone amaze

The Aussie folk sibs sing their hearts out

Australian folk siblings Angus & Julia Stone have been creating music together since 2006. Hailing from Sydney, the pair’s recently released fourth studio album, Snow, has a new single titled “Nothing Else,” a folk ballad that speaks to ease and acceptance.

It’s a lovely song about the comforts of meeting someone, accepting their flaws, falling in love, and growing old together. Angus & Julia Stone make the song a slow and subtle builder to a beautiful explosion of harmony and sweetness with heartfelt lyrics like,

There’s nothing else to do here but fall into your arms
I like you just the way you are
You’re not like the others ones
You just wanna go slow, sit still and come undone

The first two singles from Snow, the titular track (below) and “Chateau,” share a playful side of the duo that’s not featured on “Nothing Else.” Both songs are closer to solid pop tunes with fun music videos. Fun video fact: look closely at “Chateau” and you’ll recognize actor Dacre Montgomery from Stranger Things 2 and Power Rangers.

Over the last 10 years, the siblings have won five ARIA Music Awards, including Album of the Year, Best Cover Art, and Single of the Year for “Big Jet Plane” in 2010. Each has their own solo albums out as well.

Angus & Julia Stone are about to embark on a North American tour starting in Boston, MA on November 13. Check out their website angusandjuliastone.com for tour dates and locations.

Snow is available now on Spotify and iTunes.
